Solving an RBC model: Technological and Government Expenditure Shocks[]

This paper aims to solve a stochastic Real Business Cycles (RBC) model. Further, this work presents the dynamics of the business cycles, describing the cyclicality of capital, employment and consumption. The baseline method consists in computing the impulse-response functions based on simulated data and determine the effect of technological and government expenditure shocks on the main macroeconomic variables including consumption, output, employment and capital. The results show that capital, labor, consumption and output rise as a result of a technological shock. In contrast, capital and consumption fall in the case of government shock, while output and labor increase.

Learning Experiences of Teenage Mothers on Parenting, Coping, and Self-Efficacy: Basis for Caring-Based Resiliency Program[]

The study provides insight into young women's experiences of teen pregnancy and early motherhood. The systematic reviews are all qualitative studies in many parts of the world. These insights were all from young mothers from varied backgrounds who experienced teen pregnancy. The search strategy located only 18 studies which met the inclusion criteria and were part of the systematic review of findings. Integrating findings across the twelve studies enabled a set of recurrent and dominant experiences to be identified.Several themes materialized from the systematic reviews such as motherhood is positive where pregnancy is a ceremony of passage and yet positive life event. It also included stigmatization to young motherhood, aid, and support of the family, faith, and church. There is also the rapid transition to adulthood which involved experiencing numerous difficulties, threats to mothers' health, threats to children's health, financial constraints, and missing opportunities. There was the manifestation of teen mothers' unstable relationships with men in the reviews. Becoming resilient despite hardships to achieve positive outcomes through educational and professional goals and the rejection of the typical negative stereotypes associated with teenage pregnancy provide extreme resistance to perceiving their pregnancies as adversity. The desire to be role models for their children makes motherhood increased responsibilities tolerable with and a sense of purpose for young mothers.Although adolescent mothers may face challenges, many also experience resiliency and improvement in their self-efficacy through adaptation and overcoming the challenges. Despite adversity, many teenage mothers overcome the disruptions and result in positive outcomes.
