ACCEPTANCE SAMPLING PLAN FOR TRUNCATED LIFE TESTS BASED ON FRECHET DISTRIBUTION USING MEDIAN[]

The design of acceptance sampling plans are proposed for the truncated life tests assuming that the lifetime of a product follows Frechet distribution using median. The minimum sample sizes of the zero-one double sampling plan and special double sampling plan are determined to ensure that the median life is longer than the given life at the specified consumer’s confidence level. The operating characteristic values are analysed. The minimum median ratios are obtained so as to meet the producer’s risk at the specified consumer’s confidence level. Numerical illustrations are provided to explain the use of constructed tables. Efficiency of the proposed plan is studied by comparing the single sampling plan.

The Impact on Children Playing Computer Games[]

Children spend an enormous amount of time playing electronic games, many of which have positive and negative consequences for children’s development. However, when you weigh the positives, like improving problem-solving skills and spatial abilities with the negative consequences, like obesity, distractibility and exposure to violence, one can see by using qualitative research which one outweighs the other.

Assessing the Traditional Practices for Pest Management in Farmers Cropping Systems in Oyo State, Nigeria[]

The objective of this study was to assess the traditional practices used in controlling crop pests in Oyo state, Nigeria. The traditional practices underline the use of non-synthetic pesticides to safeguard the environment and human safety to alleviate the problem of negative effects associated with the use of synthetic pesticides. The study was conducted using a multistage sampling technique to select 320 farmers and imploring semi-structured interviews as data collection method. Data were described using descriptive statistics such as frequency counts, percentages, mean and standard deviation while, Pearson Product Moment Correlation (PPMC) was used to test the relationships among variables. The prominent traditional practices used for crop pest control identified by this study were mixture of cow dung and urine; garlic and ginger mixed with cow urine, fermented water of locust bean seeds and indigenous traps. It is really obvious from this study that farmers in the survey area were utilizing available natural resources to control crop pests within their cropping systems. The study, therefore recommends that the researchers or the environmental scientists should take a critical look at some of these practices through empirical experiments to ensure their safe use as well as maintaining a healthy environment.

ANTENNA ARRAYS AND OPTIMIZATION TECHNIQUES[]

As the technology progresses towards the pinnacle of advancement, the poularity of antenna array increases with a constant rate. To achieve higher antenna parameters such as gain and directivity antenna array with optimum design are widely popular.

Review of Drivers based Optical Fiber Communication using Optical USB Cable[]

We design and fabricate an optical wireless USB 2.0 system with a wireless power transfer. We are going to implement and demonstrate prototype of Optical USB (2.0) system for measuring the data for long distances by using PIC microcontroller to a PC via the USB port using fiber. The Universal Serial Bus (USB) is a communications architecture that gives a PC the ability to interconnect a variety of devices via a simple four-wire cable.

PETROLEUM HYDRATION WITH ALUM DEHYDRATION KEROSENE WITH ALUM - GC & IR TESTS[]

To control pollution and for maximizing the calorific value of commercial Kerosene, Potassium alum is used in this experiment. The samples prepared like 5grams in 250ml, 10grams in 250ml, and 15grams in 250ml of powder potassium alum in commercial Kerosene from 3 to 4 hours time with in room temperature 35-40°C. The Gas Chromatography experiments with Bruker GC430 and IR experiments with Bruker Alpha are done. The 250ml GC report of Original commercial Kerosene indicates one component, with 5grams of Potassium alum 71 components, with 10grams of Potassium alum 64 components, with 15grams of Potassium alum 83 components. May be this Kerosene is forth coming fuel to satellite rockets. Results followed.

SECURITY VIOLATION MANAGEMENT IN CLOUD BASED E-COMMERCE NETWORK USING PROCEDURAL SERVICE TAGGING TECHNIQUE[]

E-Commerce platform represents a computation environment for myriads of web buying and selling transactions on demand. Interestingly, the system architecture for e-commerce domain forms a vulnerable point for hackers and malicious users. Existing security modules have focused on the application front-end for users taking cognizance of the integration logic and the server back-end. Various encryption algorithms proposed to protect the users and the administrators are insufficient to address this challenge, hence this work that discuses and analysed a secured e-commerce design from a network perspective, that used Procedural Service Tagging Technique (PPTS ) as a technique that tags IP address labels of registered e-commerce users on the e-commerce server platform via a robust stateful firewall. An experimental testbed was developed for the e-commerce Network Operation Centre. In the setup, the Integrated Service Router (ISR) firewall monitors the ingress packets as well as the egress packets while obtaining information about the available IP tags on each of its interfaces. It was concluded that the PPTS is most accurate approach as it facilitates the collection of information from all possible sources at the highest possible frequency by the ISR firewall. This approach can be very efficient in terms of stateful monitoring on the e-commerce domain.

EFFECT OF STARVATION ON BIOCHEMICAL COMPOSITION OF Anabas testudineus (BLOCH)[]

The effect of starvation on A. testudineus lead to a significant increase in water content. Protein, lipid & carbohydrates were gradually decreased during the period of starvation, it indicated an inverse relationship with water. The ash content of fish also steadily increased with increase in period of starvation. Increase in water content was 75.45% on zero day to a value of 83.48% on 30th day of starvation. Protein decreased from 18.69-14.86% and lipid from 1.70-0.31% & carbohydrate decreased from a value of 3.48-0.72%. Ash content increased from 0.68-2.14% on 18th day and finally decreased to 0.63% on 30th day of incubation.

IMPACT OF HEALTH COUNSELLING ON SELF EFFICACY AND GLYCEMIC LEVEL AMONG DIABETIC ADOLESCENT PATIENTS[]

Children and adolescents with diabetes have significant risks for psychological problems, including depression, anxiety, eating disorders and externalizing disorders. These risks increase exponentially during adolescence. Studies have shown that psychological disorders predict poor diabetes management and control as well as consequently, the negative medical outcomes. The presence of psychological symptoms and diabetes problems in children and adolescents are often strongly affected by caregiver/family distress. Research has demonstrated that while parental psychological issues may distort perceptions of the ward's diabetes control, often, they are related to poor psychological adjustment and diabetes control. Maternal anxiety and depression are associated with poor diabetes control in younger adolescents and with reduced positive effect and motivation in older teen. The results of the study indicate that parental anxiety related to the diabetes control among the subjects and health counselling has significantly develops the diabetic control. The study concludes that to avoid both health and Psychological/psychiatric risks the (adolescent) patients should be referred for diabetes education, ongoing care and psychosocial support to a diabetes team with psychopharmacological expertise.
